What We’re Watching On TV This Autumn

Summer is officially over, and although this means that we’ll be swapping boozy BBQ’s in the garden for cosy evenings in under a blanket, we’re rather excited for the months of quality TV ahead. Plus, we’re all feeling a bit socially burnt-out from summer, so it’s nice to have the chance to sit back and swallow whole an episode (or four) of some of our favourite shows.

There’s something sad and poignant about the end of the summer – but having great TV to get into, and share with your friends and work colleagues, helps to get over it and enter into the autumn spirit.

So draw the curtains, grab a cuppa and enjoy September from the comfort of your velvet sofa.

1. Peaky Blinders

We’re still ob-sessed with Tommy Shelby and everything Brummy. It’s back on our screens and it’s a treat – slow walking, anyone?

2. Great British Bake Off

They’re back making biscuits and Victoria spongecakes and it’s making us hungry again. So quintessentially British; we love it.

3. Strictly Come Dancing

Glitter balls, sequins, razzmatazz, we are very much here for the dancing this season. Who’s your favourite so far?

4. The Politician

Starring Gwyneth Paltrow, and full of dark comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy’s The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician. We are very excited to get into this. On Netflix soon!

5. Giri/Haji

This an international drama set between both Tokyo and London. The story follows Kenzo, who has to travel to London after his brother goes missing. We know we’re going to be crazy about this one (BBC2, October).

Happy viewing guys.

I absolutely love this time of year for many reasons. But there is nothing quite like cosying up with a cuppa or lovely glass of red wine under a throw and sticking on a new show. There are so many good series out at the minute, some suggestions above I’ve not heard of so I’ll be looking those up. Happy Autumn!!
